Levante Capital is a thesis-driven firm investing in companies shifting sneaky-large markets online. As a solo-GP firm that believes in concentration, Levante is focussed on going deep on a few key markets and business models. This allows me to invest with a “prepared mind”, win deals and build the orthogonal network-graph that unearths non-consensus founders. In Fund I, Levante is going deep on a handful of key investment areas.

These key investment themes have a number of overlapping fundamentals. A niche wedge into high transactional volume sets the stage for high market share of establishments quickly, but low penetration of market value. This requires a rethinking of the traditional per-seat SaaS model. A player in that position has the right to compound revenue efficiently by layering embedded finance or adjacent features. Market complexity that makes underwriting an early-stage business difficult to diligence with a traditional lens of venture capital. Lastly, a distribution model that unlocks value previously inaccessible by software.

The inflection of these three characteristics create an opportunity for a startup that Tier-1 investors and exceptional talent coalesce around once meaningful market share is being gained. In other words, the flywheels that generate monopoly-like businesses.
